About Civic
Civic is a distribution of Drupal, originally built for electoral campaigns and legislative offices with websites run by part-time webmasters and volunteer graphic designers. Civic aims to give people a website that is easy to manage and redesign without any prior knowledge of websites or Drupal. Civic is developed by StarsWithStripes.Org.
By bringing people with similar needs (campaigners, organizers, candidates, and elected officials) onto a common platform, we can pool the cost of software development and make better tools cheaper for everyone. Our hope is that by making the project open source we will be able to foster collaboration among a broader base of people and continue to lower the cost of innovation in technologies that are good for democracy.
About CivicSites.Org
This website is under construction. The purpose of this temporary site is to get the code developed by StarsWithStripes.Org during the 2010 election cycle out into the world, and to begin a conversation with people interested in collaborating. Please take a minute to tell us a little bit about who you are and what you're looking for.
